I have hit a stumbling block with an electrical problem and thought that maybe you could help.

I have a 1968 Camaro with a 327 and an automatic. When the engine is off, the alt light glows and my battery is drained. When the engine is running, the light goes out. If I pull the fuse marked “gauge”, the light goes out when the engine is off, but comes back on when the engines is running.

I have installed a new main wiring harness, alternator, external regulator and battery but the problem still exists.

Any thoughts would be helpful.
