Many high performance thermostats have a small anti-airlock valve made into them so you won't get air trapped between the block, heads, and thermostat when filling the cooling system. If you get one of those thermostasts, great! If not, you can drill two 1/8-inch holes in the flat flange of the thermostat before installing it. This prevents air-lock during fillup, and the small holes do not pass enough water to interfere with proper engine warmup. Cool tip uh? Hope this helps ya.

I agree. Thatīs a great way of burping your cooling system.

Remember not to top with water your rad, and leave one inch or so for the water to expand when hot and under pressure.
